The TPOA Memorial Golf Tournament
The TPOA Memorial Golf Tournament will take place on September 12th 2011 in Rolling Hills. The golf course it will be held on will be the Rolling Hills Country Club. Please sign up early to be sure you get a spot, we look forward to seeing you there.
About the Golf Tournament
The Torrance Police Officer’s Association has held an annual charity golf tournament in honor of Larry Fuller since his passing May 18, 1992. The tournament has allowed TPOA to offer students from the five Torrance high schools scholarships for college. This year the TPOA Board was looking to honor the other officers who either sacrificed their life in the line of duty or passed away while still active police officers. The TPOA Board sought an inclusive title to honor the fallen officers at the annual charity golf tournament.The decision was made to honor each of the officers with a name placard placed at tee boxes along the golf course. We hope that this new format will remind all who participate that several Torrance Police Officers have given all in the service of others. Through our sponsors support and involvement with this golf tournament, TPOA has been able to offer students from the five Torrance high Schools scholarships for college. Members from TPOA sit on oral boards for the students seeking a college scholarships. During this interview students detail their dreams of wanting to attend college as well as their future goals."
